Hi entrepreneurs!
Want something to motivate and inspire you as you take your business into 2024 and beyond. If you’re looking for ideas, here are a few of my favourite books:
They say the early bird catches the worm, and leadership expert Sharma promises to help you discover the early-rising habit designed to boost your productivity and defend against digital distractions (so no more lazing in bed scrolling through your socials, then).
With more than 15 million books sold worldwide, Sharma has already won legions of fans – and will hopefully have you bouncing out from under the duvet faster than you can hit that snooze button.
Good communication is crucial for success in both business and life, but if the thought of schmoozing with clients or colleagues leaves you cold, this is a great read to help you grow in confidence. Covering everything from body language and small talk to a party-mingling checklist, Lowndes shows you how to network like a pro and shift from wannabe to winner. If you can’t wait for Santa to deliver a copy, treat yourself now and knock ’em dead at this year’s Christmas bash.
First released back in 1937, this book has become something of a classic – not to mention one of the biggest bestsellers of all time. Hill claimed to have researched more than 500 “exceedingly wealthy” individuals over many years to discover what made them tick, culminating in his famous 13 steps to riches. While it may feel a tad dated in places, it remains a fascinating insight into the millionaire mindset.
OK, so the title might sound like something your mum used to say, but this uplifting New York Times bestseller is more about the importance of structure and self-discipline in an unpredictable world. Admiral William H. McRaven reveals 10 life lessons he learned during his career as a Navy SEAL, offering words of wisdom that can be applied at work and home.
A great book to pick up when faced with a challenging day (after all, however bad a task seems, it’s probably not as tough as swimming through shark-infested waters) – and at a succinct 144 pages, it won’t take you all of 2024 to read, either.
If you’re selling a service rather than a product, how do you stand out from the crowd? Here, Beckwith delivers practical pointers and excellent examples in an easily digestible, jargon-free format. Among the many useful tips is a simple – but important – reminder to get your service into shape before you start crafting those ads. Make it your New Year’s resolution to create the best business you can – then take your marketing to the next level.
